Class Visit

In todays lesson we had the chance to speak to some professionals in the media industry. Label One are currently working for the BBC and filming a documentary in our school. This gave myself and the class a great experience talking to the team and gaining useful tips and information on filming. They told us about the importance of getting a variety of shots in order to make the editing process a lot easier for ourselves and also editing tips such as changing shots on the beat and using a lot of short shots to keep the music video interesting as the overall video is only around 3 minutes long.
We also got the chance to look at the equipment they are using around school to shoot the documentary. The camera that they use is a Sony FS7 Mark 1 with a Canon lens, it seemed huge compared to the SLR camera that we are shooting with, however it shoots at such a high quality which is necessary in a school documentary environment. We also got to see how the boom mic worked, it was strange as it captures sounds you wouldn't usually hear which took a while to get used to.

This is the camera they use..
